THE RENAULT LCV RANGE
Since 1998, Renault has stood out as the undisputed number one van manufacturer in
Europe. To consolidate this position, Renault has renewed its entire LCV line-up with its
new design language and, to ensure quality, shifted the production of all the LCVs back to
France.
The Renault Kangoo is now even larger with the addition of the long wheelbase (LWB) to its fleet.
The interior is built with a particularly resistant material to cope with intensive use. Additionally,
multiple storage solutions allow the Renault Kangoo to function as a truly mobile office for the
savvy business users of today.
Carrying Renault latest brand identity, the Renault Kangoo has a muscular stance and more
confident design. As one of the most efficient and cleanest vehicles in its class, the Renault
Kangoo is available in either the 1.6-litre petrol or 1.5-litre dCi turbo diesel variant.
To defend its status as the market leader in France and the third best-selling LCV in Europe in
2014, the New Renault Trafic combines the strengths of its predecessor with a series of key
improvements. In addition to its new, robust and dynamic design, which features the Renault’s
new styling, the New Renault Trafic is even bigger, making it more comfortable and practical than
ever. The front and rear overhangs have been extended by 10cm and 11cm respectively, while the
maximum load length of at least 3.75m establish a new benchmark for the market. At the same
time, the bulkhead has been located 3cm further back in order to enhance comfort inside the
extensively revisited cabin.
Designed to serve as a mobile office, its cabin features a raft of bespoke equipment, including
mobile phone and tablet cradles, space for a laptop computer, and a removable A4-size clipboard
to simplify the lives of business customers.

The New Renault Master LWB ranks highly in its segment as the market leader in France, Algeria
and Morocco, and fourth best-selling LCV in Europe. The renewal seeks to reinforce its popularity
and ensure that it continues to meet the needs of its customers. This latest version of the model
comes with a redesigned, dynamic and modern front end incorporating Renault’s latest brand
identity.
The New Renault Master LWB’s travelling comfort and safety credentials have been boosted, too,
with the fitment of latest generation Electronic Stability Control (ESC) – incorporating Extended
Grip, Hill Start Assist and Trailer Sway Control – as well as a Wide View Mirror which eliminates
the rear blind spot.

THE RENAULT KANGOO
A NEW FACE AND MODERN APPPOINTMENTS
The Renault Kangoo’s already popular design has been further improved upon. Taut lines
and clear forms bestow it with a robust and reassuring look, while the new front end
incorporates Renault’s latest design language, with a bold logo contrasted against a black
grille, along with more expressive and tapered headlights. It also features a more powerful
yet more fuel efficient new turbo diesel engine, which makes it one of the most efficient and
cleanest vehicles in its class.
The Renault Kangoo is more powerful and confident in its design, with taut and muscular lines.
The front bumper, bonnet and front wings have been reshaped to produce a more robust and
reassuring impression. The large and rounded bumper projects forward of the bonnet for a more
rugged appearance.
6
In addition, the bumpers, side mirror caps, side door protective strips and rear light extensions are
finished with a grain-effect texture. This enables it to be more resistant against small scrapes, as a
result of tough and high-intensity usage, for which this vehicle was designed for.
The new front end also adopts Renault’s latest design language with a more prominent chrome
Renault logo contrasted against the black grille behind it. Polished aluminium-look trimmings on
both sides of the Renault logo lighten the design of the front end. New almond-shaped headlights,
which evoke a more high-tech and quality feel, complete the stylistic update.
The Renault Kangoo, a vehicle with a devoted following
The loyalty of Renault Kangoo customers has traditionally been strong. Loyalty has continued
to rise between 2007 and 2011 to reach 66% - more than half of all Renault Kangoo owners do
not even consider another model during the purchase process. The Renault Kangoo’s image,
customer experience with the vehicle and the Renault network are cited as chief reasons for
the purchase.

A MODERN AND MOBILE OFFICE
Changes to the Renault Kangoo also extend to the interior. The cabin is now equipped with a
more contemporary centre console, which features an aluminium-look finish surround. This
console houses the manual air conditioning controls, as well as the new CD player and radio with
fingertip remote control, featuring Bluetooth®, USB and AUX connectivity. The updated interior
includes Titane black upholstery and door panels, which are made of a particularly resistant
material to cope with intensive use.
Additionally, multiple storage solutions allow the Renault Kangoo to function as a truly mobile
office for the savvy business users of today. The A4 storage space at the top of the dashboard is
easily within reach and can be used to hold invoices, delivery orders and schedules. For more
cumbersome items, the storage rack above the front seats, the glovebox or the storage
compartments in the front door panels, can be utilised.
8
TWO PRACTICAL VARIANTS
The Renault Kangoo model range consists of two variants, a short wheelbase (SWB) and a long
wheelbase (LWB) with 3.5m3 and 4.6 m3 of cargo volume respectively. The latter is available for
the first time in Singapore and is a direct response to customers’ need for more cargo space.
A protective tubular partition behind the driver’s seat ensures his or her safety by protecting him or
her against the cargo load, while the fully upholstered cargo interior panels and up to 8 lashing
rings on the floor in the cargo area, help ensure that any cargo can be safely secured and
protected from damage. A cargo area light also improves visibility within the cargo area at night.
Furthermore, regardless of which variant is selected, the Renault Kangoo will be able to handle
payloads of up to 800kg.

ONE OF THE MOST EFFICIENT AND CLEANEST VEHICLES IN ITS CLASS
The Renault Kangoo is one of the most efficient and cleanest vehicles in its class. It is
available with petrol and diesel engines, which are packed with innovations to enhance
their performance and economy. Thanks to the combination of technological features
designed to improve energy efficiency, they offer excellent fuel consumption without
compromising on driving pleasure.
1.5-litre dCi Turbo diesel engine
Comfort, responsiveness and flexibility are guaranteed with the 1.5-litre dCi turbo diesel engine,
which delivers 90bhp at 4,000rpm – ideal for heavy loads and long journeys. The high torque of
200Nm is available from 1,750rpm, making it especially suitable for moving off with a full load, and
obtaining the required response and acceleration under all conditions. In terms of fuel
consumption, it boasts a mere 5.0L/100km on the combined cycle, with CO2 emissions of just
130g/km. Paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, this engine makes the Renault Kangoo one
of the most efficient and cleanest vehicles in its class.
10
1.6-litre Petrol engine
Highly efficient in terms of power, torque and fuel consumption, the Renault Kangoo is also
available with a 1.6-litre engine mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. For those who prefer
to do away with the hassle of shifting gears manually, this drivetrain combination is the perfect
solution. The 1,598cc, 4-cylinder, 16-valve, multipoint injection engine produces 105bhp and offers
a maximum torque of 148Nm. This well-proven engine, delivers a smooth and lively driving
experience for practical, day-to-day use.
Improved acoustic performance
The Renault Kangoo equipped with the 1.5-litre dCi turbo diesel engine benefits from
improvements to the injection system, turbo and exhaust system aimed at reducing combustion
noise. The design of the engine mounts has also been revised to minimise vibrations.
Acoustic performance for the Renault Kangoo 1.5-litre dCi Turbo
Enhanced soundproofing due to:
Better positioning of sound absorbing foams in the roof.
Improved location of mastics.
Insulation of the water tank.
Reduced wind noise due to:
‘Acoustic’ windscreen.
New and more profiled side mirror caps.
11
TECHNOLOGY TO PROMOTE ECO-DRIVING
The Renault Kangoo features on-board technologies to enable drivers to save fuel and
reduce their carbon emissions. For a firm grip on running costs, the Renault Kangoo has a
gearshift indicator within the instrument cluster as a standard. The ECO mode also allows
fuel consumption to be reduced by up to 10%.
Gearshift indicator and ECO Zone
A small arrow alongside the speedometer within the instrument cluster indicates the ideal moment
to shift to the next gear in order to minimise fuel consumption. The ECO zone marked on the rev
counter within the instrument cluster allows the driver to keep to a fuel-efficient engine speed.
ECO mode
With a simple push of a button, this feature reduces fuel consumption by up to 10%. It functions by
reducing engine torque, altering the throttle pedal mapping and triggering the gearshift indicator
earlier.
12
RAISING THE QUALITY LEVEL
The Renault Kangoo uses the same running gear as the Renault Scenic, which has long
been acclaimed for its reliability and strength. Meanwhile, careful attention has been paid
to the impression of quality exuded by the Renault Kangoo, with work notably focusing on
the quality of welds, the application of body sealants, body colour matches and fit-and-
finish. Corrective action was dialled in at the car’s different development phases, from
design to production.
Solid foundations
The Renault Kangoo is a robust and reliable vehicle. With regard to both these criteria, the brief for
the Renault Kangoo was every bit as demanding as it is for a premium brand vehicle. Renault has
now built on these solid foundations to take its efforts a step further, in order to enhance the
Renault Kangoo’s overall quality.
13
Enhanced overall quality – A process that continues to gain momentum
Work to enhance the overall quality of the Renault Kangoo has been an ongoing process, which
dates back several years to its predecessors. These efforts have led notably to a more consistent
application of mastics, better fit-and-finish quality and the elimination of visible screws. This
process continued during the development of the Renault Kangoo and was even taken a step
further, thanks to a pooling of procedures with Daimler AG.
The impression of overall vehicle quality is perceived by the following senses:
Sight for colour, sheen and texture.
Touch for choice of materials, flush fitment of panels, etc.
Hearing for the sound made by the shutting of doors, the engine, etc.
Smell for choice of materials, etc.
The sense of touch has gained importance as an influence on the way a vehicle’s overall quality is
perceived, as well as on the corrective measures that are introduced. As such, more robust
mountings have been added. For instance, while the pull handles of the sliding side doors and the
interior hooks at the top of the doors were formerly clipped into place, they are now screw-fitted in
order to enhance the impression of solidity when they are used.
MCA (Maubeuge Construction Automobile), a plant at the heart of the partnerships
On April 7, 2010, having worked in association with Opel/Vauxhall and Nissan in the production
of vans for many years, Renault signed a new partnership agreement covering its small van
programme with the German group, Daimler AG. This agreement covered the joint
development and production of the Renault Kangoo and the Mercedes-Benz Citan at Renault’s
manufacturing plant in Maubeuge, France. The plant has the capacity to build quality vehicles
at controlled costs, while successfully coordinating a wide variety of versions. In 2012, 74,666
units of Renault Kangoo and 14,263 units of Mercedes-Benz Citan have been produced.
The agreement with Daimler involved the creation of work groups led by engineers from both
companies. Constructive dialogues, amounting to extensive thousands of hours, saw both
parties challenge each other’s processes to their mutual advantage. This resulted in a
proactive contribution to the improved overall quality of the Renault Kangoo. Such progress will
also be beneficial to all the other models that make up Renault’s LCV range.
14
Another area in which progress has been achieved is the fact that the overall harmony of the
finished product has taken on more importance in the evaluation of fit-and-finish. In addition to the
conformity of individual parts as a function of their original drawings, consistency and symmetry
are also monitored to ensure a more robust and higher quality overall feel.
Overall quality dialled in at the design stage
When Renault’s engineers design a vehicle, they anticipate the adjustments that may be
necessary during the assembly process at the plant and seek to eliminate them. The aim is to
save production time and costs, while simultaneously ensuring the highest possible standard of
quality. For example, the design of the Renault Kangoo’s front end featuring the brand’s new
design language allowed the elimination of certain adjustments that formerly had to be carried out
on the production line.
Quality, a priority for the MCA plant
Everybody at the plant understands the importance of quality. In
fact, operator responsibility and skills played a key role. Since
2012, 400 men and women at MCA have received training in the
notion of quality. A workshop during the course gets them to
measure the difference in overall quality between a Renault
Kangoo and benchmark rival models, and to explore ways in
which progress can be achieved. The work stations in the plant
have been improved to favour the detection of quality-related
flaws and to permit them to be corrected directly by the
operators. The aim is to ensure that no flaw or fault is passed
onto the following station.
For an employee awareness campaign, the slogan ‘Quality: At the heart of our performance” was
chosen for the poster that was displayed across the premises to highlight the importance of getting
production right the ‘first time’.
To achieve the higher standards of overall quality apparent in the Renault Kangoo, body colours
were accurately matched within a specialised light booth, the quality of spot welds were improved
and all stamped parts were inspected by operators.
