Breath

Inhaling happens as the diaphragm pushes the lungs to make air enter them and push out air and give oxygen to the rest of the body.

Dangers of smoking

• Smoking will cause damage to the lungs and cause them to blacken and become tarred. This can lead to lung cancer; a lethal disease.

Oxygen in the Body

• Red blood cells pick up oxygen from the alveolus, then releases carbon dioxide in to the alveolus. The red blood cells are like the cargo trains of the body.

Summary

• The respiratory system is the body system witch takes oxygen in to the body and to the blood and gives out oxygen and carbon dioxide . The respiratory system involves the nose, the mouth, where air enters the body, the pharynx [Throat], where air passes to the larynx, or voice box, then the air enters the windpipe, also known as the trachea. The trachea divides into two tubes called the bronchi, which allows air to enter into the lungs. Your lungs are large sponge-like organs in which oxygen and carbon dioxide are passed between the blood and the environment.
