Loss of First LoveBecause of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. Matthew 24:12 & 13 NIV
In the middle of our Lord’s exhortation on end time events, He issues a warning for believers to guard our hearts. He warns us that in these last days, because of the increase of wickedness, there is the possibility that our love for the Lord and our love for one another could grow cold. First, this increase in wickedness could be within our own heart. We need to guard our heart, the wellspring of our thoughts, feelings and emotions. We need to flee the very appearance of evil, resist the evil one and take precaution with what we allow our minds to mediate upon. If the enemy begins to take over our
hearts, little by little, then there is the possibility of losing our love for God.
Secondly, the loss of love could be rooted in the increase of wickedness in our world. It is so easy to fix our eyes and thoughts on the world instead of fixing them upon Jesus. The writer of Hebrews says,
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1 & 2 NIV
And thirdly, the increase of wickedness could stem from those who sin against us from within the ranks of believers. This is the most difficult of trials. Moses faced this when he struck the rock in anger and ended up missing God’s promise of entering the promise land. The Psalmist said it this way,
12 If an enemy were insulting me, I could endure it; if a foe were rising against me, I could hide. 13 But it is you, a man l ike myself , my companion, my close friend,14 with whom I once enjoyed sweet fellowship at the house of God, as we walked about among the worshipers. Psalm 55:12-14 NIV
These different types of attacks will happen, whether within our own heart, from a lost world or from among those closest to us. Take heart. Don’t take revenge and so lose out with God. Pray. Seek the Lord. Humble yourself before the Lord and before one another. Forgive as the Lord has forgiven you. Walk in peace. Bless those who persecute you and say evil of you. Keep your heart soft and pliable in His hands. Those coming against you are in a battle just like you and they need someone to pray for them. Let it be you. Don’t lose out with God in these last days. Don’t lose your first love. There is nothing worth having or doing that is worth losing out with God. Stay in love with God. Stay in love with one another.
Jesus says, 4 Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. 5 Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. 6 But you have this in your favor: You hate the practices of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. 7 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God. Revelation 2:4-7 NIV

Flock Together w/ Assemblies of God Churches from Around the WorldFlock: Soar Together, Centennial Edition is an opportunity to prayerfully celebrate 100 years together, as a community, with a scope never imagined before. Flock walks Assemblies of God churches and individuals through a ten-week journey of exploring what it means to walk in the Spirit and reach out to their communities in new and meaningful ways. We’ve provided a variety of resources so the journey can be fully experienced as a whole church body, as an individual, or even in a small group. Every video in the Flock experience features a different AG church. From a couple that dropped everything to begin The Homeless Church in California, to a church that chops down trees to provide firewood to the elderly, to a church in India addressing the injustices on its doorstep, the captivating stories will motivate all to do the same in their communities.Just as the churches in the videos are creating real change in their communities, anyone who experiences Flock: Soar Together, Centennial Edition will be roused to see their world in a new way and compelled to move.Starting Pentecost Sunday June 8 and finishing with a LIVE Simulcast at The Centennial Celebration August 10

Minister’s Escape is one of the best opportunities for a minister and spouse to get away, relax and recharge. This event is offered free to all South Texas Assemblies of God credentialed ministers. Your lodging and meals are provided during the event at Hill Country Camp & Conference Center in Kerrville, TX. For those who want hotel accommodations, special rates are available. You may want to plan now to take a few days before or after the escape to enjoy more of the Hill Country.
Our ministry guests are John And Debbie Palmer. Married in 1975, John and Debbie have three children and three grandchildren. They planted New Life Assembly in Athens, Ohio and pastored the church for ten years. Then they pastored First Assembly, Des Moines, Iowa, for twenty-one years. During the last eight years of their pastorate in Des Moines, the church gave over a million dollars each year to missions – supporting 800 missionaries. John has authored several
books including, Equipping for Ministry, Stories To Keep You Looking Up. and Keeping Up With the Jonahs.
John served as the General Secretary for the General Council of the Assemblies of God – 2007 - 2009. In 2009, John and Debbie co-founded Come Alongside Ministry. Through this ministry John and Debbie coach pastors and pastors’ spouses, and consult with churches to assist pastors and church leaders in more effectively accomplishing the mission and vision of their church. John is an enthusiastic encourager and effective equipper of pastors and church leaders!
In January, 2011, John became the President of EMERGE Counseling Services – a mental health ministry based in Akron, Ohio, that specializes in supporting and encouraging pastors and missionaries – providing help to the healthy and hope and healing for the hurting!

Judges 17:6- In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.
Joel 2:28- "your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions". There has been 2 factors in every Generation. One there has always been a Deceiver and two there has been a Deliverer. My point being Satan has pushed the envelope concerning the standards of God in every generation. The 21st Century Church finds itself no different. Perhaps the strategy is a same bottle, but a different LABEL.
I have been an Evangelist for 38 years and pastor for 5 years and I have observed the strategy of the powers of darkness. It concerns me how Satan has divided and has pre-occupied the ministry and the church. The Ministry and the Church finds itself with an Identity crisis. We find our self defending our Heritage like never before. Who are we now? There are three definitions of the Church world now. Liberal, E v a n g e l i c a l , a n d n o w Fundamentalist. Who are we? It seem like now the lights are on but no one is home so to speak.
Satan has worked on his strategy for about 10 years for our generation. We must understand what he is doing. However whatever definition of the term "evangelical one uses, few would deny that it has historically identified a group unwilling to be l a b e l e d e i t h e r " l i b e r a l o r "fundamentalists".
As an Assembl ies o f God movement do we still know who we are? I am concern that rather than allowing the church to teach doctrine and inform lifestyle with Scripture, we have chosen to p r e s s u r e t h e c h u r c h i n t o accepting both doctrines and lifestyle practices as normal that were soundly rejected by the previous generation. In reality we have torn down the Ancient landmarks (Proverbs 22:28), which our forefathers have set. And because of this breech in the standards of God we now have ministers who are siding with the ways of the world to gain a crowd and boast that we are a Mega Church. When in reality we have become a Church in need of nothing from God. I weep over this message this month not out of pity but, to think of the collateral damage that souls are not being saved, because Salvation used to be a privilege, but now it has become a control and demand of Human r i g h t s . N o w t h e F e d e r a l Government because of their Non-Spiritual Faith in God and denying of the Word has now made laws in the church to live by.Who are we? What is our Mission? What are we going to do about it? The answer to these three questions is- REVIVAL!!!
We must let the Dreams of our forefathers be fulfilled in our generation and not divide it. We must let our Young see true Visions of God's will. The Young cannot afford to do things in there own eyes, they must catch the visions of the young in the last generation, and we must let the old fulfill there dreams together with the Young. Who are we? We are anointed P e n t e c o s t a l M i s s i o n a r i e s reaching our world with the gospel of Jesus Christ our Savior! Lets Have Revival! It is good for the Soul!!!!
