ERECRUIT FOR APPLICANTS
Q. I’VE ATTACHED MY RESUME TO MY APPLICATION. DO I NEED TO FILL OUT THE
APPLICATION FORM?
A. Yes. The application form is used in the initial screening process. If your profile as found in the application
form, does not match the screening criteria you may be eliminated from consideration. Applicants are encouraged
to fill out the application form in as much detail as possible.
ERECRUIT FOR RECRUITERS AND HIRING MANAGERS
Q. WHAT IS THE MEANING OF “DISPOSITION” IN ERECURIT?
A. The Disposition field describes the status of an applicant in relation to a particular job application. As actions
are taken within eRecruit, the Disposition is updated. Examples of possible dispositions are shown below. An
exhaustive list may be found in PeopleBooks
• Draft – Applicant has begun an application, but has not submitted it.

• Applied – An application has been completed and submitted.
• Screened – Application has been screened with passing marks
• Interview – Applicant has reached the interview stage
• Offer – Offer has been decided
• Offer Accepted – Applicant has indicated acceptance
• Ready to Hire – Preliminary checks have been done in preparation for hire
• Hired – Applicant has been hired to this job opening
• Reject – Applicant is unsuitable for this job opening.
• Withdrawn – Applicant has withdrawn application from consideration
Q. WHAT APPROVALS ARE REQUIRED WHEN PROCESSING A JOB OPENING, AND HOW DOES
THE SYSTEM KNOW WHO IS INVOLVED?
A. There are four approvals necessary when creating a new job opening.
1. The Hiring Manager
2. The Head of Department
3. The Dean of Faculty (for Academic Departments)
4. The Recruiter
The Hiring Manager is listed in the Job Opening under the “Hiring Team” tab. The Hiring Manager is the person
managing the Job Opening from within the hiring department, generally an Administrative Assistant with
responsibility for human resources matters. If multiple Hiring Managers are listed, each person receives an email
requesting approval.
The Head of Department is determined by the “Department” field listed on the “Job Details” page of the Job
Opening.
The Dean of Faculty is determined by the “Department” field on the “Job Details” page of the Job Opening.
The Recruiter is listed in the Job Opening under the “Hiring Team” tab. The Recruiter is the person managing the
Job Opening on behalf of the Human Resources Division. If multiple Recruiters are listed, each person receives an
email requesting approval.
See below a screen shot of a typical Job Opening workflow process as viewed from the “Approvals” tab of the Job
Opening.

BROWSER AND DISPLAY ISSUES
Q. THE PEOPLESOFT WEBSITE DOES NOT DISPLAY CORRECTLY, OR SEEMS JUMBLED. I AM
USING INTERNET EXPLORER 9 OR HIGHER, IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO ABOUT IT?
A. PeopleSoft has certified the use of Internet Explorer and Firefox web browsers for use with the system but
there are known issues, some of which have prescribed workarounds and others which do not. In the case of
Internet Explorer, PeopleSoft recommends turning on the Compatibility View feature. The following is an excerpt
from Microsoft’s support site (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2536204)
“Some websites might appear blank or might not display correctly in Windows Internet Explorer 9. One possible
explanation: The site might have been designed for an earlier version of Internet Explorer.
This article describes how to use the Compatibility View feature in Internet Explorer 9 to view the websites that are
designed for an earlier version of Internet Explorer.”
Please find below instructions for enabling the Compatibility View using Method 1 as listed on the same site.
If use of the Compatibility View feature does not solve your problem, contact the PeopleSoft Administrator by
emailing servicedesk@sta.uwi.edu.
