DRUMLINE/FRONTENSEMBLEAUDITIONSFORTHE2018SEASON

YouareinvitedtoattendDrumLine/FrontEnsembleauditionsforthe2018WesternKentuckyUniversityBigRedMarchingBand.MembersoftheBigRedMarchingBandDrumLineandFrontEnsemblehavetheopportunitytoperforminfrontoflargeenthusiasticcrowdsandmakelifelongfriendsallwhileperforminginatop-notchorganization.Inaddition,everymemberintheBigRedMarchingBandcanearnastipendof$1,000forparticipatinginthemarchingband.Auditioninformationincludes:Date: Saturday,April21st 9:30a.m.until5:00p.m.(Lunchwillbeprovided)Location: BowlingGreen,Kentucky

Equipment: Batteryinstrumentsandkeyboardswillbeprovided.Studentsare encouragedtobringtheirownsticksandmallets.Auditions: ProspectiveDrumLinememberswillberequiredtoperformALLof

thelinewarm-ups(seeenclosed)andshouldbeabletoplaythroughthebracketedsectionsofthetwocadencesattheendofthewarm-ups(G-11andMacAttack).G-11andMacAttackwithbothbeplayedintheirentiretyduringthecourseoftheday,butstudentswillonlybeaskedtoperformthebracketedsectionsfortheirindividualaudition.Studentsinterestedinperformingwiththefrontensembleshouldbepreparedtoplayanymajorscaleaswellastheenclosedkeyboardetude.Individualswillbeevaluatedthroughoutthedayonanumberofdifferentinstrumentstofindthebestfitforthestudentandline.Itwouldbeagreatideatolookatmorethanjustoneinstrumentforyourauditionsowecaneasilymovepeoplearoundandseehoweveryoneplaysonvariousinstruments.ProspectivememberswhoareunabletoattendtheauditiononApril21stshouldcontactDr.JeffBright(jeff.bright@wku.eduor270-745-4024)tomakealternateauditionarrangements.
