HIGH SCHOOL YEARS

Bundy was a very shy young man throughout high school. This led for him to not have too many friends and rarely dated.

Bundy first attended the University of Puget Sound and did well academically, although in his sophomore year Bundy transferred to the University of Washington to escape the financially well off students of UPS. He came from a nonwealthy family and was looking to make a name for himself. He then grew out of his shyness and excelled in his classes, while impressing his professors, and graduated with honors from the University of Washington.

Bundy volunteered at the Suicide Prevention hotline, which was a nonprofit organization. The 24-hour hotline was on Capitol Hill where he saved many lives via the telephone giving advice on issues of domestic violence and suicide.

POLITICAL GENIUS

Bundy was hired to work on the re-election campaign of Dan Evans, Washington’s republican Governor at the time. Evans was re-elected and gave Bundy the job of being the head of Seattle’s Crime Prevention Advisory Committee. He then assisted the chairman of the Washington State Republican Party. Bundy was then appointed assistant state chairman of a political organization supporting the presidential candidacy of Republican Nelson Rockefeller.

GIVING BACK

While involved with the Republican Party Bundy volunteered at rape crisis centers in Seattle, Washington.
