School system in UK
Early School Life - PrimaryIn the UK, children start nursery which is a mini
version of school at the age of 3.Then it is a school year called reception at 4
years old. Then you start school at what people say year 1
to year 6.This is from ages 5 until age 11.From nursery to the end of primary school it is 8
years, so there are 8 classes in primary school. In primary school your class is around 30
students and are categorized in your years, for example: year 4.
Secondary School In secondary school, there is a large change as there are
many classes in a year. For example, in Sir John Cass, there are 7 classes in a
single year group. In a year of secondary school there are so many people
students than the 30 in primary school, in Sir John Cass there are 210 students in a year (year 7,8,9,10,11). In total it is about 1000 students.
At secondary school there are more lessons than at primary and each lesson is taught in more detail.
The next stage of education from secondary school is college.
School system in UK (further education)
Sixth Form Students attend Sixth Form from the age of 16 to the age
of 18. There they will study and perform their A level exams. Sixth Form is not compulsory though A levels are needed
to get into most universities. In most Sixth forms school uniform is not required. Sixth Form is free.
UniversityTo go to university students must pay between £4000
and £9000.Anyone can go to university at any age though the
average age of someone attending is 18 to 21.To get in students need at least two A levels and some
universities require students to perform an admissions test before deciding whether to let them attend.

lesson 1 starts. Each period lasts for 1 hour. After lesson 2 we have a short break for 20 minutes.
4. At 11.15 a.m. we have lesson 3 which is then followed by lesson 4. After lesson 4 we have lunch which lasts for 30 minutes.

School Uniform
Uniforms are worn to identify what school a pupil may attend. It also establishes a formal and adequate impression of the school. This is a very common item within schools in the UK. It allows students to feel like they are a part of something.
After school clubs• We have many after school clubs at Sir John Cass.• Some examples of after school clubs are sports clubs, art
clubs, chess clubs and many more.• There are also twilight language classes which include
languages like Chinese, Arabic, Hindi and more.
