1. Tinea Versicolor was formerly known as Pityriasis versicolor.

2. Tinea versicolor is a fungal skin infection.

3. Tinea versicolor commonly affects young adults.

4. Tinea versicolor is caused by the fungi Malassezia furfur which was formerly known as Pityrosporum orbiculare.

5. Tinea versiclor Form 1 is the most common type.

6. Tinea versiclor Form 1 affects sebum rich areas such as the back and chest as well as the neck and the upper parts of the limbs.

7. Tinea versiclor Form 2 is the inverse form of Tinea versicolor that affects the flexures.

8. Tinea versiclor Form 2 commonly affects those who are immunosuppressed.

9. Tinea versiclor Form 3 is also known as Pityrosporum folliculitis.

10. Tinea versiclor Form 3 affects the hair follicles on the back, chest and limbs.
