Tips To Store Your Car For Longtime

There are a number of reasons when everyone need to store their vehicle for an extended period of time.

So if you simply leave your vehicle to sit in a garage or under shade or street side for a long period , you might notice a dead battery or

damaged engine or tires when you return.

Clean your vehicle properly :-

If you are storing the vehicle more longer than a week,

you should change the oil as the used oil contaminants

can damage the engine.

Add a fuel stabilizer after oil change----------It does not only check for the right amount of fuel needed

for the engine but also performs a thorough cleaning of the fuel system,

Filling of the tank also prevents it from

oxidization, ethanol formation and rust build up.

Make sure to spray some fogging oil on cylinder and anti-seize on the top of spark plugs to prevent rusting.

If you want to store the battery, make sure to keep it inside the automatic battery float charger that will

keep it charged for a long time .

But if your car is in ideal condition, battery

will be drained by the vehicle parts.

If someone is available for

checking your vehicle, then

ask him to drive the vehicle

at least for 15mnts once in

every two weeks.

Put vinyl and cardboard on the floor (the parking area) to prevent corrosion due to the tiles or

floors..

Don’t use parking brake :-

The longer use of parking brake makes the brake

pads stick to the rotor. Instead, block the tires

with the help of tire stopper.

Flat spot

prevention:-

The under-inflated tires can develop flat spots if the

vehicle is idle for too long.

For Interior :

Use some moisture absorber in indoors that will prevent the build up of mildew, mold and other

musty odors..

Keep Critters out :-

Always cover the tailpipe and air intake where mice or other critters can easily get a way into the vehicle ..

Keep a piece of paper in between the glass and

windshield wiper blades that will prevent blades from

sticking and leaving a mark on the glass.

Covering the vehicle :-

Get a good quality car cover to protect your vehicle paint from fading up…
