INTRODUCTION
Global warming (climate change) is probably the most important issue to face our generation
There are many things we can reduce, and in many ways we can reduce them, the major ones are: reduce the amount of fuel we use
These concept will leads the development of the electric cars which is economical and pollution free..

PRACTICAL WORK Having an electric car can save money on
gasoline and can be good for the environment
Choose a car for the electric car conversion
It is best to choose a traditional car to use for the conversion
Look for something lightweight since they will run better on an electric battery than a bigger vehicle will 6
A car with a manual transmission is better for an electric car since cars with electric motors do not necessarily need a transmission
The car that choose should also have enough room for an electric battery; it will need enough voltage to power the engine to choose
Weight distribution is very important for handling on the road

Scrap body 8
Select a motor for the car that can assemble
A DC motor with diminutive body is the standard motor for an electric car conversion
Here we are used dynamo motor with a gear system that will explained below
This is the transformation kit that used for the system
9
motor-gearbox coupling kit 10
DYNAMO MOTOR
A dynamo is an electrical generator that produces direct current with the use of a commutator
A dynamo machine consists of a stationary structure, called the stator
Dynamo motor is the main componet that drive the vechicle
11
Dynamo motor ratings are 12 V,24 A That is used in it
Dynamo motor uses the commutator for needed to produce direct current
Main applications of the dynamo motors are Electric power generation, Transport and other modern purposes
12
SPEED CONTROL IN ELECTRIC CAR
Speed control can be used by three methods:
• Gear system• On Load tap changing on transformer• Varying stator resistance In this project we using gear system method.
13
Gears and Transmission Overview
It has 4 speed manual transmission gearboxes for all available vehicles . Here we used Maruti Omni gear box
Detailed description of the gear box is shown in the below figure
14
Cross section of the gearbox15
Driving through a propeller shaft
Front engine rear drive16
In rear wheel drive system the transmission is done through the clutches, gearbox and propeller shaft
allow for the constant movement, spines on the front end of the propeller shaft slide in and out of the gearbox as the distance changes
17
Starting motors are mainly used for providing the starting torque
In this we are provided starting motor with the rating of 12V and 1KW
Starting motor is powered by a separate battery pack
19
Selection of battery
There are mainly two types of battery packs are used, one for the dynamo motor and other for the starting purpose other electrical needs
Battery rating is 12V,90Ah
It takes 8hrs for full charging
20
TYPES OF CHARGING Mainly three types of charging is provided in the
set up
Plug in charging
Solar charging
Regenerative charging
21
Plug in charging
In this charging the main components are
14V,8A Transformer, Full wave rectifier
A LED is provided for the charging indication
22
Charging circuit 23
Solar charging
Solar charging is done through solar panels
Here two 12v solar panels are used and aggregate 24v is get from these panels
The charge that get from the panels are dc voltage, because of this there is no need of inverter
24
Regenerative charging
It’s a mechanism in which the series motor acts as a generator
By this action the motor generates power
utilizing this power through charging the batteries
25
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE E-CAR
Time taken for the full charging of battery is about 8 hrs
E-car gets millage up to the range between 10 to 15 km
Maximum speed range of the car is fed between 30 to 40 km\hr
26
TYPES OF PROPOSED CONVERTING KIT
3 PHASE AC TYPE
In this 3 phase squirrel cage induction motor is the main component that drive the vehicle
It gets millage up to 100km on full charge and speed is around 70 to 80 kmph
27
DIRECT CURRENT TYPE
In this forklift dc series motor is used as the main component
It gets around 80 km mileage on full charge and speed up to 50 to 60 kmph
28
ADVANTAGES
It is a coherent system that can be installed for all kind of vehicles
Economical and eco friendly Availability of electric energy is very
high Easy recharging at home or at work Less pollution compared to engine
vehicles
29
DISADVANTAGES
Batteries need to be charged. Car can not be used when batteries are
being charged. Car can only run 15km between charges Battery disposal needs to be carefully
managed
30
Result and Conclusion
An eco- friendly and economical
electrical car is designed and practically
developed using scarp materials.
