Program includes a two-credit course in spring term and a two-credit study-away in Costa Rica during May Experience.

Lectures, lab, and an exam in spring.

Tests, reports, and projects during the trip.

Who should apply?Ideal course for anyone studying ecology, conservation, or environmental sciences. (But the only pre-requisite is a biology course)

You should have a genuine curiosity about the natural world.

You should be enthusiastic about field study under conditions that can sometimes be primitive or uncomfortable.

A wide range of students including pre-meds and non-scientists have gone this trip and enjoyed it.

What does it cost?

No extra charge for tuition.

Travel charges for spring study-away are currently estimated at $3500, but may be less depending on air fare.

Compared to other May-X courses, applications are due much earlier, so you can also enroll in the spring-semester course on campus.

Formal application will occur in fall.Apply through “Horizons” on Study-Away website.

Due by Fall Break.
