Tutorial to export PDFs using QuarkXpress

3.0. Open the document in QuarkXpress

3.1. Exporting the PDF

3.1.1. Click 'File' 'Export' 'Layout as PDF…'

3.1.2. Type in the name of the file under 'File name' and click 'Options'

3.2. Editing the PDF settings

3.2.1. 'Select 'Screen – Medium Quality/Low Resolution' under 'PDF Style'

3.2.2. Click 'Compression'

Ensure the following settings are selected 3.2.2.1. Colour Images:

Select 'Automatic ZIP/JPEG Medium' under 'Compression'

Select 'Bicubic Downsample to' under 'Resolution'

Type '144' in 'dpi' 3.2.2.2. Grayscale Images:

Select 'Automatic ZIP/JPEG Medium' under 'Compression'

Select 'Bicubic Downsample to' under 'Resolution'

Type '144' in 'dpi' 3.2.2.3. Monochrome Images:

Select 'CCITT Group 4' under 'Compression'

Select 'Downsample to' under 'Resolution'

Type '600' in 'dpi'

3.2.3. Click 'Color'

3.2.3.1. Select 'Composite' under 'Mode' 3.2.3.2. Select 'Composite RGB' under 'Setup'

3.2.4. Select 'New PDF Output Style…' under 'PDF Style'

3.2.4.1. Type in 'Magzter' in the 'Name' dialog box and click 'OK'

3.2.5. Click 'OK'

3.2.6. Click 'Save' (You have now successfully exported a non interactive print PDF)
