Two Mobile Apps

By: Destiny Trevino

The first Mobile App was..

There were five different sections you could choose from.

1. Counting Money– You must select if you want to count coins or bills

and coins and then the difficulty you want.

2. Show me the money – You must drag the correct amount of coins to

match the total amount given to you.

3. Making Change– You must give the exact amount of change to the

customer based on the situation given to you.

4. Matching Amounts– With the total amount of money given, you must

find a different way to create the same amount given to you with different coins.

5. Showing ValuesYou can drag the coin value to show and

the app will tell you the amount that you selected.

The Next Mobile App was…

Uppercase and Lowercase Letters

You can trace the letters given to you by Ollie, the owl.

Tracing Words

You can also trace different words given to you.

How the Apps can be used

The students will be able to use both of these apps not only in the classroom but at home as well. This will allow students to get more practice if they need it without being in the classroom environment.

Benefits/Drawbacks

There are many benefits to using these apps• Learning anywhere• Not just using paper and pencil• Free Apps

There weren’t any Drawbacks I found for these apps. These are great apps children can use and understand.

TPACK

These apps can fit in with TPACK. With the first app, Counting Bills and Coins, students get to learn about the value of a dollar or coin on a mobile device. They wouldn’t be just sitting in a desk completely a worksheet. With Ollie’s handwriting and phonics, the students can practice writing not just using a paper and pencil. They can take their learning with them anywhere thanks to technology.
