SUSTAINABILITYEnsure the financial resourcing and sustainability of our community investments and impact

Cultivate new and strengthen existing relationships with individuals, workplaces, corporate, and labour partners through mission-aligned activities and year-round engagement

Build strategic partnerships and collaborations with key funders, social service boards, municipalities, labour partners, businesses, organizations, and individuals to fund community initiatives and/or special projects

Diversify funding sources beyond workplace giving through business innovation and increasing non-traditional and grant revenues

Expand networks by leveraging the assets and capacities of the Board of Directors, community stakeholders, and funded partners

COMMUNITY IMPACTDeepen community impact to improve lives and make measurable community change

Convene the social service sector and facilitate community collaboration to identify and address complex social issues and consider funding and undertaking a major project

Collaborate with funded partners and community stakeholders who share a commitment to social development to achieve an understanding of the root causes of local needs and identifying priorities in addressing gaps in services

Demonstrate leadership, knowledge, and the ability to measure, evaluate and communicate the outcomes of our community impact

Integrate evidence-based research, program and evaluation measures, and community stakeholder input when allocating funds to address priority issues at the local level

COMMUNICATIONArticulate our value proposition and communicate the impact of our work

GOALS

Understand and communicate social issues impacting our communities and illuminate our value in addressing these local needs, key priorities, and gaps in services

Market and communicate community impact outcomes and data in meaningful and relevant ways and measure the value of this information to our supporters

Share authentic and personal impact stories through effective use of social media and strategic communications

Utilize digital marketing and target social media efforts to deepen personal connection through continuous community engagement, dialogue, and feedback

ENGAGEMENTInspire direct personal connections with donors, volunteers, stakeholders and community partners

Create personalized and memorable individual experiences that increase participation, commitment, and revenue

Customize meaningful volunteer engagement opportunities year-round to deepen individual and corporate engagement

Work with funded partners to align volunteer engagement efforts with UW priority areas to increase relevance and community impact

Engage our Board of Directors and key volunteers as UW champions to advocate for the advancement of our mission within the communities we serve

DIVERSITYCommit to living our values and fulfilling our vision

Board of Directors will provide organizational leadership and exemplary governance as representatives of the diverse communities we serve

Organizational structure and composition, by-laws, and policies support an inclusive and diverse workplace

Organization values a diverse range of views, knowledge, and experiences and uses this to collectively and more effectively address the issues that face our communities

Training and professional development opportunities to build knowledge, skills, and expertise of our team in areas of diversity and inclusion

THE WAY FORWARDThis plan outlines the three-year strategic direction for United Way Centraide North East Ontario/Nord-est de l’Ontario. These strategies and goals will guide our work and build on our strengths to ensure we deepen community impact, inspire relevance and commitment, and increase revenue within the districts of Greater Sudbury, Sudbury-Manitoulin, Nipissing, Parry Sound, Cochrane and Timiskaming.

The goals outlined in this plan are designed to direct our efforts and collective resources to achieve the greatest possible impact within all three of our focus areas:
