Administrative support of the Department. Supervision and the running of the Secretariat. Informing the members of the Department and

the collective administrative bodies about legal and administrative issues.

Taking down the minutes of the meeting and carrying out the decisions of the collective administrative bodies.

Conducting elections of new positions and advancements of the faculty members.

Administrative support of the interstate and interdepartimental postgraduate studies program.

The duties of the administrative staff of the undergraduate studies:

Registrations of first-year students. Keeping track of 700 undergraduate

students. Support of the examinations three times

a year during exam periods. Preparation of the swearing – in. Confirmation of the academic curriculum

every year. Provision of statistics. Issuing certificates concerning

undergraduate students.

The duties of the administrative staff of the postgraduate studies:

Announcements concerning postgraduate vacancies.

Registrations of first-year postgraduate and Ph.D. students.

Keeping track of postgraduate and Ph.D. students.

Issuing certificates concerning postgraduate students.

Provision of statistics. Preparation of the swearing – in.

Special Account of Funds and Research - Research Committee

Established in 1988 according to the disposition of the Common Ministerial Decision of Economy and the National Education and Religion Affairs

The objective is the utilization of funds targeting to the Research and Development

The Research Committee of the University of Patras consists of representatives of all the Departments of the University that are elected over a three years period. The head of the research committee is the Vice Rector of Strategic Research Planning and Development Dr. Demetrios L. Kalpakses.

The responsibilities of the Research Committee are determined by the article 4, par. 6, of the Common Ministerial Decisionno. KA/679/22.8.1996.

Special Account of Funds and Research - Research Committee

The most significant duties of the Research Committee are: The elaboration of Proposals for the Senate

concerning the research policy of the University of Patras

Approval, acceptance and disposal of funds for the materialization of research projects

Establishment of the Scientific and Economic Annual Budget of the Special Account

Composition of the Funding Guide of the Special Account

Searching for funding and notifying the scientific community of the University of Patras regarding scientific projects.

The duties and responsibilities of the secretariat are the following: Monitors the accounting and administrative

operations of the Special Account Serves secretarial duties for the Research

Committee Elaborates the directives that the Research

Committee recommends to the Senate Ensures the execution of the directives of

the Research Committee
