Eunice Williams Born in Deerfield Massachusetts

in 1696. She would later be taken

captive by Mohawk Warriors at the young age of seven years old.

She would be adopted by a Catholic Mohawk family.

Soon after that she would fully assimilate into the tribe taking the name Marguerite Kanenstenhawi Arosen.

She would later marry a mohawk man named Franqis-Xavier Arosen and start a family with him.

In the end Eunice would chose to live with the mohawk man for her entire life.

She did see her family a couple times though, once in 1741.

Her father, John Williams a Puritan minister would often try to ransom and persuade Eunice to return however he died before her first visit back.

Her brother Samuel took over for their father and would keep in contact with Eunice.

His contact is the primary reason why she visited Massachusetts in 1741 and on two other occasions.
