Fibre Design Foundations
• Fibre double-head ring topologies
• Rules per fibre string:
– end points at existing macro sites
– two different end points per string
– a maximum number of small cells in the string
– short distance between sites
– no common fibre paths between strings
– no more than two small cell at a dead end
• Fibre design provided a high reliability and
capacity backhaul for the small cells,
keeping a live connectivity even in case of
fibre cuts and/or aggregation equipment
faults
