UTOPIAN ALPHABET

Create your own utopian conceptual alphabet! In front of you, there are 22 letters and a sampler of words starting with each letter. Select one word from each sampler, so that you have 22 words in total. The word that you select should be the one that best reflects your vision of ‘utopia’ or ‘dystopia’.

Test yourself: how flexible are you? What direction will you choose?Tick the words that you have chosen. Your alphabet should have 22 concepts. If, amongst the suggested words, you can’t see those that you would like to see in your alphabet, be proactive: modify the word. Inflect it, change its form, add or take away parts of it, for example: be – being; no(ble); re(spite).

Now, try to create your own positive – negative range (from utopia to dystopia and the other way round). After marking your ‘own’ word, rank the other words under a given letter according to how positive or nega-tive their effect is on the present or the future. Mark them in any way you want (for example relating their impact to their colour saturation or greyness).

Leave your alphabet behind in the Gallery. We will make it part of our utopia project archive and… that’s it. After all, this is your utopian vision.
