V2G Wireless Authentication Solution and Test Framework for

Smart Charging

www.nemo-emobility.eu

Development of WAS capable SECC Association and pairing sequence

Overview

• New draft version of ISO 15118 introduces authentication over WLAN

• Wireless authentication is a novel method for EV authentication

• Challenges in wireless case: association, authentication and authorization

• EV association is a trivial task, if the charging cable is already connected

Wireless Authentication Solution (WAS) and TTCN-3 based test framework have been

developed

• Prototypical implementation of parts of the ISO 15118-2 2nd edition / ISO 15118-8

• Focusing on certificate based authentication

• Runs on embedded system environment

WAS uses standardized messages

• Seamless authentication without driver actions

• Standard for international authentication interoperability

WAS is validated by the independently developed test framework

EV – Electric Vehicle EVCC – Electric Vehicle Communication Controller EVSE – Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment SECC – Supply Equipment Communication Controller

Test framework • ISO 15118-4 contains conformance test cases

for wired charging

• Testing and Test Control Notation version 3 (TTCN-3) based test scripts have been customized
