Introduction

Van Gogh is well known for his famous paintings ‘starry night’ and ‘the potato eaters’, he is also known for cutting off part of his left ear lobe.

Early Life

Vincent's father was Theodorus, mother Anna.

His two brothers Core and Theo, three sisters Will, Lice and Anna. He grew up on a small- holding. and surprisingly he only had a piece meal education.

Jobs

Theodorus and Anna paid for Vincent to become a reverend but he didn’t attend all of the lessons. Having not attended all lessons he became a trainee missionary and went to help a mining village in Belgium.
