2014: a pretty big year for Scotland...
• XX Commonwealth Games – the biggest sporting event in Scottish history
• Running from 23 July - 3 August, the Games offer visitors the chance to see some of the world's top sporting talent in action, while extending their trip to see what Scotland has to offer
• Its not just about sport………
• Jam-packed cultural event programme on offer throughout Scotland: ‘Culture 2014’ & ‘Festival 2014’
• Businesses, partners and the public getting behind the event to make it a success & create a lasting legacy for Scotland…which is where you come in!

Destination Media Hub
What is it? In partnership with VisitBritain and GCMB we are creating a onestop shop for worldwide consumer, news & sports media available from Sun 20th Jul – Mon 4th Aug, 8am-8pm: working press area, wifi & printing, destination info, events programme,fast track filming permissions, conference & interview zones
Where is it? the IET Teacher’s Building, St Enoch Square,
Why is it relevant? Anticipate over 1,000 media to be inGlasgow during the Games – huge opportunity to showcase Scotland as a must visit destination to a global audience

How do I get involved?
• Events & news conferences: several available spaces to put on bespoke events / conferences & experiences for media ie. Culture / design showcases, tastings & demos, Q&As, news announcements
• Hosting of external media events
• Media offers: Discounts & exclusive offers for accredited media
• Goody bags: Samples & media gifts
• Press trip support: Accommodation, travel and itinerary support, Glasgow, Scotland & UK wide
• Scottish characters: Interesting spokespeople across a multitude of themes ie. food & drink, culture & creativity, history & heritage, innovation
Our digital destination media hub will enable us to identify journalist’s areas of interest and tailor communications & invites to events accordingly

What is it?• A bespoke site created with GCMB & VB to collate a
database of accredited media • Accreditation for the DMH is now open to media via a
registration page on our new online media centre: www.destinationmediahub.com
• Registered media can access media collateral including b-roll footage, imagery, media offers, itinerary ideas, fact sheets, news & events information
How can you help?• Follow us on Twitter for regular news @mediahub2014 • We are compiling a book of media offers & a character bank

• Main Press Centre (MPC) Tourism Showcase: Dedicated space within the Glasgow2014 media centre to showcase Scotland & the UK as a destination in partnership with GCMB & VisitBritain

• Opportunities for partner involvement? Schedule of added value activity / experiences being developed to showcase the best of Glasgow, Scotland & the UK, driving traffic to the stand and engaging media
