• Competes in the open national and international markets

• Approximately 20% of our activities are conducted in international projects

Basic funding

NIVA receives an annual basic funding from the Research Council of Norway.

The basic funding, 12% of total turnover, is intended for:

specific research tasks to ensure competence in line with NIVA strategy

National monitoring programmes

• Marine Coastal Monitoring Programme

• Effects of long-range transported air pollutants

• Riverine inputs and direct discharges to Norwegian coastal waters

• Contaminants in harbours and fjords

• Contaminants in freshwater fish and lake sediments
