It is a pleasure to present “Watercolors: Apples In Floral Designs”

The art of the still life is something that can be traced back centuries to European painters. Common subjects included, fruit, containers, and of course flowers.

So how did this e book come about? I make no pretense at being skilled in either drawing or painting. Painting is not my area of expertise...I am a floral designer, educator, and I am pretty good with a camera.....

And it is by way of floral design and photography that this e book came about...

At Rittners Floral School we love to design floral art with specific themes. The resulting arrangements are photographed and used for curriculum development, for instruction, for our web site, & for social media and e books. One theme we recently played with was “integrating apples and flowers in floral art for teachers....” We enjoyed the creative floral designing... The photography was fun. The results were amazing.

Our workflow involves a huge range of operations.... planning, floral design production, photography, sometimes videography and of course digital post production. It is a team effort & I am involved with & enjoy all aspects of our workflow....

While involved in the post production process we discovered that it is relatively easy to alter a photograph and make a it look like a painting. Some of the results are to be found on the following pages... It was fun to play with these floral art/apple photographs and to turn them into “still lifes.” All of us here at Rittners hope you enjoy our modest results!
