We missed you last week

What the story of this picture ?

God asked Abraham to leave the city of Ur and go to the city of Haran with his wife Sarah, his nephew Lot and his father Terah.

• After he spent 15 years in Haran, God called him for the second time. This was after the death of his father Terah. God told Abraham to leave Haran and go to the land of Canaan

What the story of this picture ?

WHO IS YOUR BEST FRIEND ?

“Look up at the sky and count the stars, if you can count them,

so shall your offspring be”

What the story of this picture ?

Next year, around the same time, Sarahwould have a child.

Hehehe.. I am 90 years old and my husband is

100 years, how could we have a child at that age?!

“Is anything too hard for the LORD?”Gensis 18:14

A strangeThingHappened!

• One day, God tested Abraham. He asked him something really strange.

• God asked him to offer his son Isaac as a sacrifice.• Why God asked Abraham such a harsh request?!• God is merciful; He knew that Abraham wouldn’t

fail this test. • God permitted this to show Abraham’s faith and righteousness to the whole world

• God is merciful, he provided a ram to Abraham to offer instead of Isaac, and

• he heard God telling him “Because you have done that, I will bless you, I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven”

The offering of Isaac is a symbol of the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus on the Cross for our salvation.

why we call Abraham the man of faith?

• He trusted God and left his rich country to go to a place that he didn’t know.

• When there was a conflict between Abraham’s shepherds and Lot’s shepherds, Abraham tried to make peace because He trusted that God would take care of everything.

• He believed God’s promise that his children and grandchildren will be the same number of stars, however, he was an old man.

• He offered his beloved son to sacrifise.
