I hope you have had a lovely Easter break and are now ready to get back to working hard at home. This booklet includes some key Math

and English activities that you can use as part of your home learning. The index pages have the activities included in order, so that you can pick and choose the tasks you want to complete. Remember, you can get in touch

Writing ideas

Write a book review for your favourite book or the last book you have read. Why don’t you type it up and ask a parent to post it on Amazon to help other children decide if they want to buy the book?

Choose your favourite book; write a diary entry from one of the main characters.

Write a letter to your favourite author explaining why you love their work. Why don’t you ask an adult to put it in an envelope ready to post to the author at a later date.

Write a dilemma story about a subject of your choosing. Use the planning sheet on the page below to help you!

Write a daily diary entry, detailing what you have done and how you have felt.

Write a debate about a subject that you are interested in. Some ideas are listed below. Be sure to consider both sides of the argument before giving your opinion in the concluding paragraph!

- Should children have to wear uniform to school?- Should children be given homework?- Who is better at football, Ronaldo or Messi?- PlayStation or Xbox, which is better? - Cats or dogs? - Does having more things make us happier? - Is it our job to look after the environment? - Should hunting be allowed? - Should all zoo animals be released back into the wild?

Visit Pobble365 – use one of their story starters to write your own short story.

Visit Once Upon a Picture and use an image to complete a creating writing piece

Write a diary entry in the day of the life of an animal. Why don’t you choose a pet that you, a family member or a friend has?
