WebEx in Moodle Tutorial

Step 1: In your course shell, select the topic you wish to add WebEx to, and click “Add an activity or resource”

Step 2: A popup window will appear. Select “WebEx Meeting” from the list of options, then click “Add”

Step 3: A new screen will appear with WebEx setup options

Step 4: Enter information into the required fields (with the red exclamation points next to them). Enter a meeting name, the start time for the meeting (date and time), then how long you’d like the meeting to last (the duration field).

Step 4 continued: Lastly, be sure to enter a meeting password. Please create a random password for this, since the password must be shared with your class. Students will be unable to join the WebEx meeting unless the password is shared with them.

Step 5: There are additional settings that you can apply to your WebEx session, so check through the additional settings to make sure there’s nothing else you’d like to add. Once you’re done with the WebEx session setup, click “Save and return to course”

Step 6: Your topic should now have a WebEx session included in it, like below

Step 7: If anyone clicks on the WebEx link, they should see a page similar to below, until the date and time of the WebEx meeting

Log into WebEx (Note: If you are just attending a WebEx session as a guest, you do not need to do this)

Step 1: In the web browser of your choice, navigate to https://wou.webex.com

Step 2: Once at the WOU WebEx site, click “Sign in”

Step 3: You will be presented with the following screen. If you already have an account, log in with your WOU username and the password you set for WebEx. You’re in! If you don’t already have an account, please contact webex@wou.edu for more information.
