WEEK 1 Summer 2017

Highlights of Week 1 Worship The campers were fortunate to have Pastor David Franklin and Principal

David Turner as guest speakers during our morning worship.

On Tuesday, Pastor Franklin used

the story of Joshua and the Battle of

Jericho to help our campers under-

stand that God’s plan may not make

sense, but we can become victori-

ous if we trust him.

On Wednesday, Mr. Turner took

the campers on a hike to re-enact

the story of the feeding of 5000.

The experience allowed our camp-

ers to gain a greater sense of Je-

sus’ love and compassion.

Did You Know That

Timeliness Shows

Respect?

Of the 6 core values that

we will focus on this sum-

mer, punctuality is likely to

have a profound effect in

the life of our campers.

This week’s punctuality ac-

tivities helped our campers

see that timeliness leads

to trust and dependability.

As a reward for exhibiting

this core value during our

first week, many of our

campers received a special

treat.

Thank You McEachnie Family

You are wondering what Saara

McEachnie is carrying, right?

She is carrying 4 laptops. Thanks to

the McEachnie family, we now have

16 laptops that can be used to ac-

cess our online math program.

JIU JITSU COMES TO MCSEC

Kayla Dehm, our amazing Jiu Jistsu instructor has begun promoting

physical fitness and building character in our campers. Welcome, Kayla!

CAMP MISSION:

The Miracle City Summer

Enrichment Camp

(MCSEC) is a Christian-

based program designed

for school-aged children. It

provides a safe and loving

environment where chil-

dren can socialize, and

collaborate through inde-

pendent and group-related

activities. It also has an

academic component with

a strong focus in the core

content areas

(mathematics and read-

ing). The life of each child

is enriched through spiritu-

al, academic, social, and

physical activities.
