Fisher Road Recycling Composting Processes

Turning your waste into Grade A Compost

FRR Inside Composting – Receiving Building

• Material is received into large Receiving Building.

• The air in the building is controlled for odors by a large fan and two Biofilters.

• The food waste, yard and garden material are mixed and placed in one of three large Herhof cells for composting.

• After the material exit the Herhof Cells, the material is placed on controlled aerated floors inside the receiving building for a period of time.

Biofilters for Receiving Building

• The Receiving Building is a Negative pressure environment.

• The Biofilters System (picture bottom left) enables the air to be filtered decreasing the odors from the Receiving Building.

FRR Inside Composting to Outside Composting Process

• The inside composted material is moved from inside the receiving building to one of two large outdoor aerated concrete pads designed to control odors by positive aeration (forced air).

• The material continues to compost and age while on the concrete pads.

• Once the product is aged, it is screened to be sold to commercial businesses, landscapers, and homeowners as Class A Compost.
