▪ Students will only be allowed to leave school when:▪ A written request with a legitimate

reason is provided by parents▪ Parent/guardian comes to school to

request the release

▪ Students will only be released to custodial parents/guardians

CODE OF CONDUCT

GHS CODE OF CONDUCT…▪ School rules apply:

▪ Any time you are on school property ▪ To and from school on buses▪ At any school-sponsored events▪ On property connected to school events

▪ Please take time to review the section of your handbook dealing with the Code of Conduct

SCHOOL LOCKERS…▪ Lockers are school property and may be

searched at any time

▪ Students are responsible for:▪ Upkeep of their locker▪ Keeping combinations private

▪ GHS is not responsible for any missing items

▪ Sharing or switching lockers without administrative permission is prohibited

SCHOOL DRESS CODE…FULL EXPLANATION CAN BE FOUND ON PAGE 15

▪ Shorts/skirts must be mid-thigh

▪ Ladies▪ Tops must cover area from neck to shoulder▪ No cleavage or midriffs▪ No revealing or see-through clothing

▪ Gentlemen▪ No sleeveless shirts

▪ Dress Code Consequences▪ 1st Offense: Call home for change of clothes▪ 2nd Offense: ISS▪ 3rd Offense +: ISS + Administrative Discretion

NOT ALLOWED▪ Rips, tears, or holes in clothing

▪ Pajama pants

▪ Hats, head coverings, or sunglasses

▪ Gloves, jackets, or coats

▪ Studded accessories or chains

▪ Any item referencing alcohol, drugs, tobacco, gangs/cults, weapons/violence, sexual materials, or obscene language

STAFF WILL MAKE THE FINAL DETERMINATION ON INAPPROPRIATE MATERIALS & CLOTHING

B.Y.O.D…▪ Devices are allowed in halls and Commons

▪ Use in the classroom is up to each individual teacher▪ Teachers will post their policy and discuss it

with you on the first day of school▪ It is each student’s responsibility to know and

follow each teacher’s policy▪ If your teacher does not allow devices, they

must be SILENT and OUT OF SIGHT

▪ Failure to follow BYOD policy will result in an office referral and confiscation of the device

▪ Consequences will be at the discretion of the administration but may include:

▪ Keeping device for parent pick-up

▪ ISS, Friday School, and/or OSS

BULLYING AND HARASSMENT

BULLYING & HARASSMENT…

▪GLS prohibits the harassment, intimidation of, bullying of, or “cyberbullying” of any student on school property, or at school-sponsored events.

▪ Students should report incidents of bullying, harassment, or intimidation to the principal or assistant principal, teachers, or counselors immediately.
