2021 Graduation Requirements
A minimum of 24 credits are required for high school
graduation in the Bellevue School District. Students earn a
0.5 credit for each class each semester. Additional
graduation requirements are listed below.
– minimum cumulative 2.0 grade point average (GPA)
(Athletic/Activity eligibility also requires a 2.0 GPA)
– minimum of 40 hours of Community Service. Track in
Naviance
– Pass High School Smarter Balance Assessment in
Language Arts and Math
– Washington State History requirement
– High School and Beyond Plan, Assigned in Naviance

History Requirement
If you were not in BSD in 7th and 8th grade, you
need to take the WA State History class.
If you came from another district or a private
school and took WA State History there, we will
need proof to demonstrate that the requirement
has been met or you will need to make up WA
State History.
If you came to WA State in the 11th grade,
please check in with your counselor about
meeting the state requirement.

World Language/Competency Based
CreditsWould you like to earn high school credit
for a language other than English that you
speak at home?
The competency test is a way to earn high
school credit for a language you already
know.

Seal of BiliteracyIn the State of Washington, students
qualify for the Seal of Biliteracy by
demonstrating proficiency in English and
another world language.
Students must demonstrate proficiency on
a nationally normed language test such as
AP Tests, IB Tests or a STAMP Test.
