Although you may not always agree with the people in charge, please try to remember that they only have your children’s best interest at heart when making some very difficult deci-sions
Welcome to the 2011 BWFCA annual awards banquet. As board members and par-
ents, we are aware of the need to develop and maintain open channels of communi-
cation between new and returning “Bandits”. With this being said, please feel free
to contact any one of our board members with any concerns that you may have.
The BWFCA is a non-profit youth football and cheerleading program that brings in
children from Wood Dale, Bensenville, Itasca, and several other surrounding com-
munities. The ages range from 5 - 14 years old. The Bandits currently enroll 150
boys and girls and are continually growing even in these tough economic times. We
are proud to be able to subsidize the cost of each participant with our raffle which
allows everyone the chance to play for free. Still, the cost is rising, and although
the average cost to a Bandit is $168, it costs approximately $267 per participant
to be enrolled. We offset these cost by several methods including aggressively
seeking vendors that want to work within our budget and several, and most impor-
tant, fundraisers. Fundraisers like spilt the pot at home games, candlelight bowl,
concessions, spirit wear and our biggest, the hosting of playoff games. These
“extras” are critical to keep our costs as low as possible. As board members, we
are aware that it is our responsibility, no, it’s our duty, to work hard to keep this
program financially strong as well as keeping it affordable for EVERYONE in OUR
community play Bandit’s football. I urge you to remember that this organization,
our organization, is only as strong as its volunteers.
Thanks for a great year and to all those who volunteered their time!
Bud Heim
President The strength of the chain is only as
strong as its weakest link.
Bandits History
The Bandits received its start as a football component of the BBAA well over
twenty five years ago. It participated in Pop Warner Football for many years. The
Bandits left the BBAA in 1989 and became the BYS (Bensenville Youth Sports). On
July 21, 1989, the organization became incorporated in the state of Illinois as the
Bensenville Wood Dale Football Association or the BWFA. The program left Pop
Warner in 1990 and joined an independent league called the Mid-Suburban Jr.
Football League (MSJFL) … wow, that’s a lot to swallow. In 1997 the membership
voted to change the name to currently what it is today.

Every New Day is a gift — That’s why they call it present
Winners never quit…...quitters never win !!!
We as parents, as mentors, as individuals, must stress to the youth in our
community that life will never be decided on a football field but if taught
correctly, the life skills instilled in playing this wonderful game will never be
forgotten
