Welcome to UW-BCIn 2006, a $6.4 millionexpansion/renovationproject was completed whichprovided state-of-the-artscience labs, high-techclassrooms, well-designedstudent activity spaces, anda comfortable student commons.

The Commonsis an area where studentscan study or just hangout. Public forums, awards presentations, contests,receptions and musical performances are also presented in this area.

The Learning Centeris located in RitzingerHall, just down the hallwayfrom the Commons. It is oneof the many computer labs locatedaround campus. Students alsocome here to receive freetutoring in math and writing skills.

Ritzinger Hallhouses two biology labs, a green-house, chemistry lab, geography lab,physics lab, and prep areas along with ‘smart’ classrooms. As a result of the renovation, the science facilitiesall received state-of-the-art laboratory equipment along with aprojection system, documentcamera, VCR/DVD player,and internet access.

Fine Arts Buildingis located just west of Ritzinger Hall and houses the Music Room, Art Room, Joel Salter Art Gallery and the 300 seat Theatre. Recently, the lobby/art gallery area received a face lift and allnew seating was installedin the Theatre.

The Japanese Friendship Gardenis located just across from theFine Arts Building along thesouth wall of the Library. The garden was constructed in 1998 by three Japanese Master Gardeners. The 35’ x 40’ garden is filled with nature symbolism and celebrates our longstanding relationship with Miharu, Japan.

The Libraryhouses a collection of more than40,000 books, 90 periodicals,500 DVDs, and 500 VHS tapes. It contains a computer lab withinternet access, meeting rooms, study carrels, and the rental textbooks.

The Student Center,located north of the Library, contains the Food Service,Osprey Room and Eagle’s Nestmeeting areas, and studentrecreation area on the upperlevel. The lower level housesregular classrooms and all of the distance education classrooms.

The Gymnasium,located east of the Student Center, is the site of Charger athletic competition in Women’sVolleyball, Men’s & Women’s Basketball and the intramural sports program. The Fitness Center is located in the Gym lobby and includes cardio equipment and weightmachines.
