Why do we give?$2 a week can provide:•12 Elementary school children with trained volunteer tutors•The protection for one acre of tropical rain forest

$5 a week can provide:•Two nights of shelter for a troubled or neglected youth•Two months of meals for a homebound person

$10 a week can provide:•Five and a half weeks of work training•Baby formula for 52 low income infants

Your Role• Coordinator: • Plan, organize, train and recruit Key Workers

for your Agency Campaign

• Distribute campaign materials

• Organize events in collaboration with your Loaned Executive, include charity speakers

• Collect donations from key workers and get them to your Loaned Executive

• Track results on the Nexus pledge site

• Key Workers:• Communicate the purpose of the

CFC, needs of charities, and the many advantages of giving

• Personally contact and discuss the importance of the campaign with each employee you serve. Plan follow-up visits to employees on vacation and sick leave

When is Your Campaign?

• Plan• Schedule your agency kickoff• Be sure to invite your Agency Head

and include charity speakers and the CFC video

• Make it fun, include door prizes, food, CFC stickers and other ideas we’ll talk about today

• Schedule fund raisers, charity fairs and other events to raise awareness

• Aim to complete the campaign before Thanksgiving

• Secure Top-Down Support

• Whether it’s management or labor leadership, the person in charge should be asked to play a key part!

• How Can They Help?• Write an endorsement letter (email)• Deliver a speech to employees• Give to the campaign themselves• Be a visible supporter

• Build Your Team• As Coordinator, gather a

campaign committee to help plan and run the campaign

• Last year’s Coordinator (your advisor)• Next year’s coordinator (your deputy)• Labor Representatives (if applicable)• Management Representative• Event Coordinator

Committee Members Should Include:

• Set Your Timeline

• Plan for a “campaign window”

• Establish a “clear” Kick-off and closing date

• Schedule meetings to collect contributions and to evaluate what’s working and what’s not working

• Be Sincere! Make your donation first, then talk about how easy it was

• Discuss reasons for giving• Encourage payroll deduction• Remain available as a resource• Ask givers to get their friends to give• Say “Thank You” often• Ask . . .

•We have a new page on our website and it’s a great way to show you the IMPACT your gift can make!

•You can send the link out for this page in emails to your colleagues to help them understand how a little can go a LONG way!!

UNIVERSAL GIVING = Give Anywhere!!!• Donors may make a pledge to any of

24,000+ local charities that participate in the 151 CFC regions.

• This gives donors the ability to give to a local charity in another state. Ex. A donor can split their gift from a charity from their hometown (San Diego) and a charity in NYC.

• You can make your pledge by entering the 5-digit code on your local campaign region’s pledge form.

• Additionally, you can search for and make a pledge to any charity using electronic giving.

Submitting Paper Pledge Forms

• Review all pledge forms – make sure payroll deduction forms are signed and include the SS# or employee ID• Make sure forms are legible and all fields

are completed• Separate parts 1 (white) and 2 (yellow)• Part 1 gets submitted to your agency

payroll office if they are payroll pledges• When sending payroll pledges, be sure to

include signed NEXUS payroll forms• Part 2 remains in the pledge collection

envelope with cash and checks attached

Completing the Report Form

• Please note, this is a new form, there is only one form to complete• The form should be completed by

the Key Worker and submitted to the Coordinator with the pledge collection envelope• Check the math and sign off when

you submit the form with the envelope to your Loaned Executive (weekly)

Search by keyword, charity name; sort by federation, service category, AFR; filter by local, national, international

Donor Recognition Pins

In an effort to assure that the most amount of your dollars goes to the charity of your choice, all donors will receive a

Donor Recognition Pin.

Volunteer Recognition ProgramCFC Innovator Award – to recognize

outstanding efforts in one of three categories

•Reaching new donors•Creating fun and educational events•Making donors feel special

All Coordinators and Key Workers are eligible

Nominations can be submitted by Loaned Executives, Agency Heads, LFCC Members.

Awards will be presented at the final campaign celebration
