Storytime

This is made up of students in 5th grade that score above an 875 on the Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI). This year we have 17 members. Their duties will involve helping out with Book Fairs, community projects, helping in the media center, reading to younger students and administering surveys - just to name a few. We meet monthly and their input is highly valued.

WES Media Student Advisory Board

The school library media center is a vital and integral hub of the school and as a result reflects the philosophy and goals of the school and the district. It is through collaboration with students, teachers, administrators, BOE members, parents and the school community that the library media program is developed. The atmosphere in the school media center should encourage community and individual learning experiences that enhance academic achievement. Students, staff and parents should all feel welcome. The media center should provide individualized and student-centered education which promotes all areas of education from reading for pleasure to reliable sources for reference projects. We promote principles of intellectual freedom in our school community by addressing the first amendment and privacy of all our patrons.
