What does fiction mean?

Fiction: Narrative, explanatory material, or belief that is not true or has been imagined or fabricated

The category of literature, drama, film, or other  creative work whose content is imagined and is  not necessarily based on fact.

What makes a Great fictional/narrative Paragraph?

•The beginning gets readers interested.

•The characters face a problem .

•Vivid words give a clear picture of the characters and what they see and hear.

•Time-order transition words such as next, then and soon help tell the order of events.

•Suspense makes the reader curious about what might happen.

•Writers use suspense to make readers interested in their stories.•Suspense is a reader’s feeling of curiosity about what will happen next in a story.•One way writers create suspense is to give hints about what might happen. This is called FORESHADOWING.

ACTIVITY

Change the following sentences so that them create suspense about where the ants are and what will happen to them.

1.- They stopped to get a drink from the sink.

2.- They slept in the sugar.
