How do social workers help?

• Day Care – go to centres to socialise, play games, get dinner etc…

• Home Helps – Help with cleaning, cooking, shopping etc…

• Meals on Wheels – Provide meals for older people at home.

• Community Nurse – help with personal care, e.g. injections, medicines.

• Lunch Clubs – provide meals at community centres/ halls

• Occupational Therapist – install equipment to help older people, e.g. wider doors, grab rails etc…

• Community Alarm Scheme – elderly people can press alarm for assistance 24 hours a day.

• Elderly people feel more secure and independent.
