In the 1960’s

WHAT IS WAR?War is man.

I’m a man, therefore I am

war.

In thebeginning I had no

weapons other than my

strength, but my strength

was no match for the wild

beasts which hunted me.

SoonI learned to hurl sticks and

stones. Through all

generations these have

been my only weapons but

I improved on these.

I took the stone and attached it to the end of the stick. A short stick with a heavy stone became a hatchet; a long stick with a smaller stone became a spear.

I improved these again when I

developed the bow and

arrow.

I improved my method of hurling

stones with the sling and

the catapult.

I put allmy energy into developing

methods of hurling stones;

the pistol, rifle, cannon..

thenwhen I learned to fly, the

bomb.

Now I am developing the spear:

small rockets, large

rockets, intercontinental

rockets.

Now even my method of travel is a

spear for I have developed

the space rocket.

From the beginning of time I have

had but two weapons. I

have changed their size

and shape many times but

they remain the same; a

stick and a stone.

But I will find a new weapon, I

know I will for war must

have weapons for man.

Man is war. I am war. Therefore I am man.
