MACBOOKAIRMy Macbook Air goeseverywhere with me. It'sthe perfect portablesolution for the textualand graphical content Icreate.

Sure, it lacks the power ofits bigger brother theMacbook Pro. But for blogposts, slide decks,speeches, ebooks, whitepapers and images it'sideal - and I can sling it inmy bag and barely feel theweight at day's end.

RODESMARTLAVSometimes I need to takenotes or interview acolleague. Rode's smalland portable lapelmicrophone fits in the sidepocket of my bag and isperfect for ensuring I nevermiss a word of what wassaid.

It plugs directly into myphone or into theMacbook and is well worththe €80 investment.

PEN ANDPAPERFor all the great thingsabout the Macbook, somethings can still be donemore effectively on paperwith a ballpoint pen.

I'm not picky - and I'm nota Moleskine guy - and aslong as I can read whatI've written it works for me.

Laying out a presentation,

planning a speech, orbrainstorming ideas,sometimes old school isstill cool.

EVERNOTE

The downside of draftingon paper is that you haveto keep it ordered. Andeven then it can bedifficult to search througnand find what you'relooking for. Enter Evernote.

Evernote is where I do mydrafting, it's where I storemy research, and it'swhere I scan all those pen-

and-paper sketches andnotes using Evernote'sScannable app.

WORDPRESS

It's one of the mostpopular ContentManagement Systems(CMS) on the planet.Powering about 1 in 4websites and everythingfrom the smallest blogthrough to the largestnews organization,

Wordpress is a big part ofmany content creator'sdaily routine. Whether formy personal orprofessional blogging,

Wordpress is my first andlast choice for a CMS.

CANVA

Canva is an online designapplication that allowsyou to make things lookamazing - and usuallywithout spending a cent.

Canva is where I dres upimages, createpresentations, build slidedecsk, and manage mostof the graphic design workthat comes my way.

PIXABAY

DOZ can't afford to beburned by Getty Imagesand their infamouscopyright extortion letters.

And if my boss can't affordit, neither can I.

For high quality imagesthat I can use, manipulate,

remix, and mark up, I go toPixabay.

It's high quality, free to useand remix, and has a greatsearch feature, too.

DROPBOX

I store everything in thecloud.

Everything.

And when it comes tocloud storage, Dropboxhas been my preferredsolution for years now. Ipaid for the upgrade tothe 1TB plan and havebeen happy with thespace, the sync, and theuptime.

What could be simpler?

GOOGLEAPPSI'm a Dropbox fan.

But the team at DOZ usesGoogle Apps, includingGoogle Docs for a lot ofthe drafting work.

While Dropbox is great forstorage, if I want to workeasily with a Google Appsteam then I have to beable to work in thisenvironment, too. As aresult, Google Drive, Apps,and Gmail are all a part ofmy daily routine.

HARBARCEHANDBOOKCall it a nod to myacademic roots but a copyof my Harbrace Handbookis rarely out of arms reach.

I write for a living and Ihave a pretty good graspof grammar andpunctuation.

But sometimes I'll getstuck, have a question theinternet can't answer, andI'll flip through mygrammar gospel to findthe answer.
