What’s On at the...What’s On in Mission... The Canadian Cancer
Society, that’s What’s On in Mission and all across
Canada, every day in the fi ght to beat cancer.
Cancer never stops it’s attack, it never takes holidays, the weather
does not matter. Thus the reason volunteers in Mission and
across the country work so hard to help those stricken with the
disease. Volunteer drivers take patients to treatment centers and
consultations with specialists. Every year hundreds of families are
driven to their treatments free of charge by our volunteer drivers.
We also run support groups. One-on-one telephone support by
volunteers having walked the walk and understand the worry and
fear when fi rst diagnosed with the disease.
During the year Cops for Cancer volunteer for fundraising events
to help kids with cancer, paediatric research and Camp Good Times.
Camp Good Times gives kids & families a chance to enjoy themselves
with others suffering the same fi ght. RCMP Cnst. Christine Day has
volunteered to be Mission’s Cop for Cancer again this year. Christine
will be doing a Pole Sit atop a 50 foot Scissor lift (supplied by
Arnolds Rentals) from 4p.m. Friday July 13th to Sunday July 15th
in the forecourt of Save - On - Foods in the Junction. During this
week-end we have the fantastic Rob Hess and the gospel connection
performing plus great prizes and raffl es. We look forward to your
support of this event.
By publication date, this years Daffodil month will be over & we
thank, the businesses and individuals for their support in corporate
donations and the public for there generous support by wearing the
daffodil Pin to show caring and, joining the fi ght against cancer.
From all of the volunteers we thank you for your support in the past
and in the future.

My wife and I are both retired with health issues. My wife came upon this health store, FUEL. We met the owner, Dolf. Thanks to Dolf I feel like a new man! The combination of the alkaline water, light therapy and proper nutrition he recommended has changed our lives.
My health has improved remarkably and still continues to.Thank you Dolf. God Bless You.” ...Earl & Monica Reid
“Our daughter was diagnosed last summer with a slipped femoral head epiphysis in both her hips. After having surgery to pin the hips into place, she began experiencing pain when she walked and regressed into using crutches and a cane. She was also taking a lot of medication to control the pain. We decided to do whatever we could to help
her and one of the approaches in our multi-modal approach was to try the low light therapy suggested by Dolf. We used the light therapy diligently for one week. Within a couple of days of using the lights, we were able to reduce her medication and within a week, she was off the medication all together and walking without the use of crutches or cane.“ - Kristen Jones

“Return to the Garden” Celebrating the Art and Culture of Gardening
Opening Reception, Mother’s day, Sunday May 13,
2012, Refreshments served
“Return to the Garden” explores the physical, social
and spiritual aspects of the garden and our connection
with nature and physical environment. Our spiritual and
physical evolution is the inner and outward refl ection of
self and nature.
In this time of globalization, it is time to “return to
the garden” as a place of refuse and re-establish a
harmonious co-existence with people, genetic bio-
diversity and planet. When we nurture the garden,
we nurture ourselves by learning how to respect our
physical body and the body of our planet, which is the
garden of earth.
