On March 25, 2013, Amazon officially announced that it has added the Zombieland pilot, based on the 2009 film, to its Prime Instant Video lineup.

THE IDEA

Re-introduce Twinkies alongside

the launch of Zombieland

WHY?The Twinkies-Zombieland relationship has already

been established. Now it’s time to take advantage of the groundwork that is already in place as it is adapted into a

television show.

If Zombieland goes to series, this could be a mutually

beneficial relationship until death-- more or less.

Product placement is everywhere. But here, it is less jarring because it is an integral

part of the story.

WHY THE IDEA FITS WITH METROPOULOS

Twinkies are a symbolic product that represent life’s joys that

would be missed in the event of a zombie apocalypse. The firm

already uses this nostalgia factor to market its other products.

WHERE’S THE LAST TWINKIE?

A zombie or post-apocalyptic themed marketing campaign

that is either centered around a quest to find the Last Twinkie (from “Where’s the cream

filling?” to “Where’s the Last Twinkie?”
