WhenIfirstbeganservingintheministryofFCA16yearsagoKenJones,afriendandformerboardmemberforFCA,sentmethisstory.Severalyearsago,anewpreachermovedtoHouston,Texas.Someweeksa;erhearrived,hehadtooccasionallyridethebusfromhishometothedowntownarea.Whenhesatdown,hediscoveredthatthedriverhadaccidentallygivenhimaquartertoomuchchange.Asheconsideredwhattodo,hethoughttohimself,"You'dbeEergivethequarterback.Itwouldbewrongtokeepit."Thenhethought,"Oh,forgetit,it'sonlyaquarter.WhowouldworryaboutthisliEleamount?Anyway,thebuscompanygetstoomuchfare;theywillnevermissit.Acceptitasa'gi;fromGod'andkeepquiet."Whenhisstopcame,hepausedmomentarilyatthedoor,andthenhehandedthequartertothedriverandsaid,"Here,yougavemetoomuchchange."Thedriverwithasmilereplied,"Aren'tyouthenewpreacherintown?Ihavebeenthinkinglatelyaboutgoingtoworshipsomewhere.IjustwantedtoseewhatyouwoulddoifIgaveyoutoomuchchange.I'llseeyouatchurchonSunday”.Whenthepreachersteppedoffofthebus,heliterallygrabbedthenearestlightpole,heldon,andsaid,"OhGod,IalmostsoldyourSonforaquarter."Here’sthetruth,ourlivesaretheonlyBiblesomepeoplewilleverread.OuracGonsmaybetheonlyactsofJesus’lovetheywilleversee.WearelivinginaGme,whentheworldiswaiGngandwatchingtoseehowweasChrisGanswillact.WillwetrulysquashfearwiththepeaceofGodandshowit?WillwetrulysteponracismandhatredwiththeloveofGod?WillweshowthegraceofGodtothosewhodon’tdeserveitorservewithaselflessaLtude?I’mthankfulthatinthisministrywecanengage,equip,andempowercoachesandathletestothink,act,andliveinawaythatshowstheworldweloveandserveanAlmightyGod.Watchyourthoughts;theybecomewords.Watchyourwords;theybecomeacGons.WatchyouracGons;theybecomehabits.Watchyourhabits;theybecomecharacter.Watchyourcharacter;itbecomesyourdesGny.TheministryofFCAhasbeenchallengedfinanciallyandphysicallyduetoCOVID19.Yourconsistentandfaithfulgivingtothisministryhelpsusmoveforward!PleaseprayfornewHomeTeamsupporters(likeyou)topray,give,andserveinthisgreatministry.
