Earth Day is an annual day intended to inspire
awareness and appreciation for the Earth's natural
environment. Events are held worldwide to
demonstrate support for environmental protection.
Since 1970, Earth Day has been celebrated on April 22
and is observed in 175 countries.
What is Earth Day?
Environmental Benefits
Since beginning the Cenergistic energy management
program, Willis ISD has saved over: 13,690,556 kWh of Electricity, 128,931 therms of Natural Gas and
23,339 gallons of Water
These savings equate to: Preventing 8,255 Metric Tons of CO2 from polluting our air, Removing 1,720 automobiles for an entire year from our roads, and Planting 211,670 tree seedlings every year for 10 years
