• Winter Storm Outlook: Alerts the public to the chance for winter storm conditions 3 to 7 days in advance.

• Winter Storm Watch: 50% confidence of meeting warning criteria within the next 12 to 48 hours.

• Winter Storm Warning: Issued for significant accumulations of snow, freezing rain, or sleet, usually issued 12 to 36 hours before the event begins.

• Winter Weather Advisory: Issued for accumulations of snow, freezing rain/drizzle, or sleet below warning criteria but are expected to cause hazardous driving conditions.
