Joined Civil Service in Cheltenham

Worked as a Design Engineer

Aphasia

Went to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol in 1999

Rehab in Oxford’s Rivermead Centre

Gradually walked with a stick

Went home in October 2000

Work with Aphasia

Went back to work part-time, then full-time

Outside work, met Jenny and Wilfred

Dragged along to Glos’Speak!

Top of the World and College

Toured around Australia in Spring 2002

Lead Designer for a module on a satellite

Went back to college to study for a Masters

Work and Depression

At uni, I did great things, but not my Masters

No design work for me, felt uninspired

Tried to change jobs internally

Regroup and Leave

With my partner’s help, left work in March

Searched for work for two months after that

When our money was almost run out…
