Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) and Payroll are the first two Workday systems we will introduce. HCM is the human resources part of the Workday system and will transform how we work in areas like payroll, benefits, reporting time, and requesting time-off.
Overview
Workday is a modern, mobile, user-friendly platform that will
eventually replace Banner
It is a web-based design that’s easy-to-use, much like your
favorite web site
Navigation is simple so you can quickly manage your personal
information
Starting December 19 (for the first pay period of 2017 (enter time,
direct deposit elections, tax elections) you will access Workday to
enter time.
Starting January 3 you will access all of Workday anywhere,
anytime – 24/7.
From a laptop, smartphone or a tablet. Just download the
Workday app to your mobile device

Workday Self-service Worklets

When you first log in, Workday will display a set of Worklets or icons. When you select a Workday Worklet you can see each available action, as well as information you can view.
Manager’s Inbox

You can use your inbox to take action on any outstanding processes and to
view any notifications for any processes that you maybe be part of.
Notifications are just FYIs
Manager’s inbox
The visibility of business process steps and progress is one of the most powerful features
of Workday system. For each task you perform in Workday, there is a business process,
which defines required steps.
At any time, you can identify the status of a process under the Archive tab of your inbox by
finding the task and clicking on the Process tab.

As employees request time-off, it goes immediately to their manager,
who receives a notice in their in box they have an Action to complete.
Approve, Deny, and Send Time Off
Requests Back
• Click the Time Off Request.
• Click Approve, Send Back, Add
Approvers or More. From the More
menu you can select Deny, or Cancel.

From the My Team worklet:
• Hover over the employee for whom you want to
enter time off.
• Click the Related Actions icon next to the
employee.
• Select Time and Leave > enter Time or Time Off

From the My team Worklet open the dialogue box below
As a manager, the list of actions you are able to complete are listed under Actions here. You can view information from the right hand column.

From My Team Worklet select Terminate, select from the following the employee to terminate and click OK.

Complete the required termination information and submit.

Accessing Workday enables you to:

REMEMBER: We are not training on live data so your information will
not be 100% accurate across the Workday environment
