Basic Research

- Define “what you look for” in sensemaking

- Ethnographic Studies: - to understand the process of sensemaking in operational context

- to serve as a baseline for comparing different cognitive models

- Identify typology of sensemaking situations: the context dimensions that impact sensemaking (e.g. time horizons and familiarity of the domain)
