Common Angles
• Draw the following common angles. What methods/tools can be used to construct the angles?

180°360°
Referents• Brainstorm referents for the common angles
22.5°30°45°60°90°
180°360°
• Use referents to identify angle measures found in common roof designs.
Lines and Angles
• Using a straight edge, draw 2 lines (not necessarily parallel) and a transversal to identify and remember– Supplementary angles – two angles that add up to 180°– Complementary angles – two angles that add up to 90°– Adjacent angles – two angles that share a common
vertex and a common arm– Vertically opposite angle - are the angles opposite each
other when two lines cross
Identifying Lines and Angles
• Identify examples of supplementary, complementary, adjacent and vertically opposite angles found in common roof designs.
