Wisconsin Visual Artist’s Guild - Marshfield Clinic, Weston

Blog Update

Rick Eyre reported on blog activities.32 new blog entries this month and 638 hits on blog.

Web Update

Mark Mittlesteadt – web update. Artists are encouraged to forward their information(name, address, photos, etc. to him. He will create templates, etc. for review.

Empty Panels DiscussionShould we allow no-members to participate to fill up empty panels?Lively discussion followed by the following decisions:

• New Price for members: $15 for each piece or $35 for 3 pieces.$5 per additional piece.

• Non-members: $35 first piece, $5 per additional piece, if space available.One time only – not judged.

Next Show - “Summer Retreat “ This is an “Open Show” June 7 – Sept. 6th

•Forms due May 27th – Forms were handed out & you can get them on theblog.

• Don’t forget the “new price” for members: $15 for each piece or $35 for 3pieces.$5 per additional piece.

• Prioritize your entries, 1st, 2nd, 3rd (put in your “best” order) Just in case wereceive too many entries, we need to know which ones you would prefer toshow.

• No more theme shows, except for the “Cattails & Flowers Show”

CVA Loft Exhibit

•  June 17 – July 31

• Gala Opening on Friday, June 24th (night of Exhibitor Show downtown)

60 pieces allowed. CVA will take 33% of sale• Deliver to CVA: June 14 – June 16

•  Judge our own entries. Ballets with comment area.

• Pat Gaska volunteered to be a greeter on July 24th.

Upcoming Fall Show• Discussion on reception for our fall show.

• Catered food.

• Fundraiser included for a Marshfield Clinic sponsored cause.

• Suggested the same dates as the St. Claire’s craft show. Date unknown at

this time.• Volunteered for committee: Theda Hewuse, Pam Clark, Carol Hettinga, Cindy

Markowski

Other News

• Cindy Markowski sold painting from current show.

• Rick Eyre sold one of his photographs from the current show to the MarshfieldClinic.

Don’t Forget!!  - Museum of Wisconsin Art in West Bend

We received a letter from Thomas Lidtke (Executive Director) of the Museum of Artin West Bend, WI. They are in the process of building a new museum facility, whichwill be 32,000 square feet to be completed in 2012. One of his goals is to get all of Wisconsin’s art groups into a network with opportunities to exhibit their artwork.

• He will be visiting our area on May 12 at 6:30 with a presentation at Howard Johnsons.

• This is HUGE !!!! Everyone is Invited !!! Other art clubs will be invited toattend.

•  They want to let the world know who the artists are in Wisconsin.• Not every state has a regional art museum.• During his visit, he will visit the Marshfield Clinic and see our art work.• Visit their site: www.wisconsinart.org
