Kragujevac became the first capital of Serbian Principality in 1818 after the liberation from the Otoman Empire. Headed by Prince Miloš Obrenović, it was the political and cultural center of 19 century Serbia. The First Serbian Constitution was passed in Kragujevac in 1835.

Prince Miloš Obrenović established the first administrative, educational and cultural

institutions in Kragujevac, such as the first court, high school, theater, library, gallery...

The first institution of higher education in Serbia was also founded in Kragujevac in

1838 -„Lyceum “. It represented the crown of Prince Milos efforts

to establish an institution for educating state administration and officials.

The first subjects taught in Lyceum were:

The Sector of International Relations and International Projects is the only integrated

service at the University of Kragujevac

• a strategic resource for Rector, Vice- rectors, Deans and the University Senate for internationalization policy development

• an “umbrella” for international projects and external assignments• a centre for financial and administrative support of international projects • the university door and the “first stop” for incoming students and staff • a link home for our students studying abroad and alumni• represents the university/faculties in international co-operation and network

groups• prepares and administers bilateral agreements• organizes INFO days, workshops, seminars and conferences• organizes social and cultural events• offers international PR• offers student counseling and information for university staff• offers international career service• offers other information services, prepares guides, news-letters,

catalogues, updates web-site, etc.

INTERNATIONAL RELATIONSINTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

• It will establish a working group that will provide support in the analysis of the existing institutional regulations related to internationalization strategies and EU recommendations on this subject

• It will contribute to the development and implementation process for the defined framework

• It will actively attend and participate in the staff trainings and know-how transfer visits, thus strengthening the University’s capacities for developing high-quality international project proposals , effective management of large-scale international projects , establishment of mechanisms for incoming student services

• It will organize dissemination events on new and advanced internationalization policies within the promotion of Serbia higher education in EHEA

• It will contribute to overall project administrative and financial management.
