New X-Ray emission lines and continuum emitted by active solar corona successfully measured for

the first time in the wavelength range 3.3 – 6.1 Å.

RESIK RESULTS

Absolute abundance of argon determined for the first time for

the Sun using direct spectroscopic tools. Similar results for S, Cl, K

(series of ApJ papers)

Measures the X-ray emission of the Sun in the 0.8 – 15 keV band with:– Time resolution ~10 μ s– Sensitivity 100 x better than GOES (the standard for 30+ years)– Energy resolution 3x RHESSI (NASA)
